Synapse Publishing & Entertainment, LLC has completed filming on “Women Behind the Lyrics – Country Edition,” a documentary-style TV pilot exploring the challenges and creative journeys of independent female artists in the modern music industry.

Created by Executive Producer Darice G, the project follows four artists as they collaborate, tour, and share the stories behind their songwriting. Celebrated vocalist Wendy Moten, Nashville’s Judy Paster, songwriter-producer Sarah Harralson, and rising Texas artist Delaney Ann form the pilot’s featured lineup.

The concept originated from Darice G’s own experiences as a businesswoman, musician, and advocate for women in entertainment. Her goal is to give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the realities facing female creators—particularly those working outside major-label systems.

Filmed under the SAG-AFTRA independent agreement, the project was directed by Dante Nazzaro with cinematography by Alan Lessig. Industry mentors and sponsors supporting the production include Penny Gilley, Bonnie Baker, Mary Minter, Dale Penner, Nancy Puetz, Marc Baron, Sennheiser Audio, Enterprise Nashville, Strings for Hope, and Gilded Girls.

Music from the participating artists is currently being played across U.S. independent stations and on Music Row. The group was recently honored at the 51st CMA of Texas Awards, receiving the Artist of the Year recognition.

Synapse Publishing is now seeking investors and strategic partners to complete post-production and prepare the pilot for streaming distribution. The company plans to expand the concept into a four-season series covering additional genres such as blues, rock, and rap, each spotlighting a new group of female artists.

More information about the project can be found at womenbehindthelyrics.com.
